Glasslam shows the "Smart Edge" at Glassbuild 2009

Glasslam has not stopped working to make life easier with the customer in mind. Glasslam, for the first time, demonstrated the new "Smart Edge" at Glassbuild 2009. With this new technology you are able to get the benefits of Glasslam's Air-Tite primary seal and foam spacer but the benefits of having the hot melt already pre-applied to the back side of the foam spacer. All you need to do is heat the butyl to get proper wet out on the glass and you have fabricated an Insulated Glass unit. Take time to watch the video.

LAMATEK promotes Janine Martinez to Fenestration Sales Manager

Please join LAMATEK in congratulating Janine (Clauss) Martinez on her promotion to Fenestration Sales Manager. Janine joined LAMATEK about 2-1/2 years ago as Fenestration Account Manager and has brought both structure and organization to the Fenestration department. Although she joined this market in the early stages of its decline (and did not get to enjoy the "good times" like most of us), her determination to build a concrete framework in the Fenestration department created a stability that has not existed in the past. This has allowed LAMATEK to develop and market new products and prepare for the market turnaround that they are now experiencing.

 

We are also proud to announce the promotion of Shawn Newman to Technical Sales Associate. Product design will continue to be his key responsibility. Additionally, Shawn will collaborate on projects directly with the engineering\R&D departments and provide technical assistance from the design process through to the sale. Since joining the Sales Dept, Shawn has been essential in the development of new products for our largest customers and was instrumental in the engineering and design of our new PROTEK packaging products.

Glasslam announces official opening of Air-Tight insulating glass foam spacer plant

Glasslam N.G.I., Inc. CEO Stephen Howes has announced the official opening of Glasslam's Air-Tight(tm) insulating glass foam spacer plant in Freeport, Grand Bahama Island. According to Howes, "In only one year we have built from scratch a plant that is second to none. It has taken others decades to do what we've done. We have the capacity to run hundreds of millions of feet of the finest warm edge foam spacer products in the world. We spared no expense with equipment, and our policy of only installing the world's best delayed us a bit, but it was well worth it. I promise to personally work twice as hard during the next year to become the supplier of choice for the finest possible spacer products. It's not just business, it's a passion now."

 

The company has begun providing samples and taking orders and plans to sell its products worldwide from the Freeport facility. Additional capacity and locations are also being planned and developed. Company president Gerhard Reichert states, "Glasslam is in a unique position to take world class technology and lead the way toward providing manufacturers and consumers the energy efficient products needed in the global marketplace. We have put together a team that will focus on superior quality, customer service and professionalism. It's being done the way it should be done."
